This last workshop really was successful. Learnt lot of new technique on how to print natural leaf n plants on fabric. All management n accommodation was good.
The new workshop you organise in your new studio or other place you can search where more plants.
Irit Dulman's eco-print workshop in Bangalore 2017 was an enriching experience. She is a great mentor with great techniques and ideas.
Every session was like a treasure hunt which ended up in beautiful naturally printed textiles, the most exciting part being opening of freshly cooked bundles at the end of each session.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the workshop and wish we had more days to experiment and explore.
I would really like to thank Anne George for putting in all the efforts for giving us this soul enriching experience.
Irit Dulman workshop was an amazing. It was very organised and gave me a good first hand experience of the ecoprinting technique. Couple if things I felt could be incorporated,
One, some theory information about the local plant species and the colours they'd yield and
Second, some general knowledge of chemistry, like chemical bonds, colour affinity of plant dyes to various materials, alkaline and acidic medium,etc..
I think a general overview of these things could be a good kickstart for people perusing further exploration in this direction!
Ever since I started eco-printing it was my intense desire to work/learn with Irit Dulman a prestigious name in the world of leaf printing. And one day I read that Anne George is organizing a workshop on eco-print by Irit Dulman. I without any delay registered myself for it.
As expected it was a great experience learning with Irit. She has mastered herself in this art that the students grasp the technique so effortlessly that otherwise is not easy. She is very humble and hard working. She is ever ready to answer your questions.
Anne and Zac made all the arrangements so perfect that created a smooth working atmosphere for all the participants.
Anne's fabric knowledge is extraordinary and she is able to procure any kind of fabrics. Zac is very supportive whether it is leaves collection or arranging good quality Jain Food
And last but not the least it's Anne's hubby. He supported like anything. Very soft-spoken and hard working man. Anne, you should be proud of him.
Anne is it possible a one or two day workshop for the previous year's participants?
THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL WORKSHOP
Honestly it was a wonderful experience and very well managed workshop. I really have no feedback on the event as such. You guys were so well organized, I mean it.
As far as the course goes, Irit was superb. Small observations from me - the supplies list could have been better explained.
Like the size of the dowels, the need for a really washed down blanket for a better effect as in the older the better. People need to know that having lots of blanket really helps.
A fair warning about the heat in the pot, not your fault it's obvious, but once you burn your hands you really can't do much work.
I personally believe it is best to stay at the location and keep focused. Otherwise it was brilliant! I keep going back to Clover Greens it's become my default getaway.
The workshop on eco-printing by Irit Dulman was totally amazing. She is a very good teacher who is generous with sharing her techniques with the students. I loved learning from her and meeting you all. The venue was great and fabulous food. A wonderful week.
I enjoyed every single moment of the time spent at the eco-printing workshop with Irit Dulman.
I was very impressed with the meticulous planning, effort and attention to detail that went into it.
She is an inredibly talented artist and an excellent teacher, very generous with sharing her wealth of experience.
Have come away feeling highly inspired, charged and enriched. I should mention that as co-organisers, you all were amazing. The venue, the materials, the set-up, just perfect.

More about Irit and her workshop:
Irit Dulman works from her studio in Givatayim, just outside Tel Aviv, Israel. Irit’s exploration of ecoprint is focused on stark prints and bold colors derived from nature. A true master of art, her constant experimentation produces new techniques, which she teaches in her workshops organized worldwide.
Students will start with learning the multi layered techniques of eco-printing which makes images with depth and textures. During the 5 day period, students will be taught how to combine leaves and natural dyes to create beautiful pieces of textiles. They will learn the individual capacities of leaves and how to apply it to botanicals from their own local environment. Application of natural dyes to fabric and how to mordant fabrics correctly for maximum effect of the dyes will be taught. Natural dyes we will explore in the class include Indigo, Madder, Weld, Logwood and Cochineal. There will be eucalyptuses and casuarinas among other local foliage. After students study the interplay between natural dyes and leaves on fabric, they are given composition exercises on textile design. During the last part of the workshop, students can experiment with small garments they have brought from home like t-shirts and cut pattern pieces that they would take home and sew. Eco-print special fabrics will be available on premises to purchase and will include both cellulose (cotton, linen, hemp, nettle) and protein (silk and wool) fabrics. A wide selection of Indian natural dye stuff will also be available to order.
Delicious hot lunches are provided on all days of the workshop. Special requests regarding food can be placed prior to the workshop.
